The Associated Builders and Contractors of Ohio (ABC) endorsed the campaign to support Senate Bill 5, which voters soundly defeated on Nov. 8 as an attack on working-class people. ABC has shown “strong support for Senate Bill 5” and has endorsed Building a Better Ohio, the campaign to retain the failed effort to destroy collective bargaining, unions and the state’s middle class.
Republicans say Senate Bill 5 does not mean pay cuts for employees. But when it comes time to bargain for new contracts, government leaders can unilaterally enact their final offers and unions have no recourse. Putting a dollar figure on that new power would be guesswork, without even addressing the issue of whether it is fair.
