Construction industry spending during November 2013 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted rate of $934.4 billion, 1.0 percent above October’s estimate of $925.1 billion, according to the U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce.
Spending in November was also well above the November 2012 estimate of $882.7 billion by 5.9 percent. Construction spending over the first 11 months of 2013 ($828.4 billion) is up 5 percent overall above the same period in 2012.
There were increases in both the public and private sector throughout the month. Spending by local, state and the federal government increased by 3.9 percent over October’s figures, while spending in the private sector increased by 1.8 percent.
