The Affiliated Construction Trades Ohio (ACT Ohio) announced today it has officially endorsed the Voters First ballot initiative. The Voters First ballot initiative was recently approved for the November ballot in Ohio. The constitutional amendment would create an independent redistricting commission to replace Ohio’s current system which allows the political party in power to gerrymander congressional and state legislative district lines.
Executive Director of ACT Ohio, Dennis Duffey, said “This ballot initiative represents Ohio’s best opportunity to ensure fair representation in Congress and in Columbus. When there is fair representation among our elected officials we are better able to protect critical policies like prevailing wage that support a living wage for working families.”
ACT Ohio is a statewide construction advocacy association which advocates for quality, safe construction by qualified contractors and skilled craftsmen, as well as level competition to ensure that the state’s tax dollars are spent properly.
