Columbus, OH – Mike Knisley was elected Secretary/Treasurer of the Ohio State Building and Construction Trades Council (OSBCTC), a statewide office based in Columbus, Ohio, in June 2018.
The Ohio State Building and Construction Trades Council is comprised of 137 trade unions representing nearly 100,000 men and women who put on a hard hat every day and uphold the tradition of American building excellence across our state. Its mission is to ensure that the construction industry offers stability of employment, economic security and rewarding careers for its members, while building community partnerships and maintaining our communities.
Knisley was previously President of the Board of the Ohio State Building and Construction Trades Council, President of the Board of the Lima Building and Construction Trades Council, and Business Manager of the United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters and Service Technicians Local 776 in Lima, Ohio. The OSBCTC Secretary/Treasurer position was previously held by Dennis Duffey.
“I am honored to be selected to be Secretary/Treasurer,” says Knisley. “I’d like to continue to build upon the great work retiring Secretary/Treasurer Dennis Duffey has done. I want to continue to expand the Building Trades’ presence across the state and develop regional strategies to spur economic development in Ohio.”
Knisley began his new duties September 1. In his role as Secretary/Treasurer, Knisley has been instrumental in supporting new and ongoing construction projects for the OSBCTC’s 14 member councils across Ohio and advocating for Ohio’s building and construction tradespeople.
