The Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) request to seek public comments on possible changes to the agency’s construction industry standards has been approved by the White House’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.
OSHA may now issue a request for public comment in the Federal Register. The Federal Register is a daily publication of the Federal government that issues proposed and final administration regulations of federal agencies.
OSHA has outlined the project with industry leaders at construction forums over the past year. The agency hopes to update existing OSHA construction standards. Any new administrative rules that result from the project would have to go through formal rulemaking, including public hearings and small business review.
