As union members, we know that one of the most important things we can do is give back to our communities.
Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 189 of Columbus is proud to sponsor the WOSU Public Media fundraiser on Thursday, December 4, and urges all union members to consider tuning in and contributing to a great cause.
Licensed to The Ohio State University, WOSU Public Media broadcasts community-supported, noncommercial public radio and television stations. For nearly 60 years, WOSU Public Media has served as a gateway to nonprofit educational and cultural resources in the Central Ohio community.
In addition to Local 189’s generous $5,000 donation, several members will be manning the telephones for the pledge drive, taking donations from the public. Last year, their participation during the airing of “Columbus Neighborhoods” netted one of WOSU’s biggest fundraising events in history, and Local 189 is looking to surpass that total this year.
The fundraiser will begin at 8:00 pm on WOSU TV, which will be rolling out new editions of “Columbus Neighborhoods” throughout the night. Please help spread the word to make this a UNION night at WOSU.
